Craving for a trip to the mountains? With exquisite fishing waters? With mountains to hike and explore? Or just to lay back and enjoy the splendour of Sweden’s wild side.
Welcome to Hökudden in the village Jormvattnet. The wonderfully situated cottage lies by Jormsjön (Jorm Lake) with views of the lake and the mountains. The charming and picturesque cottage is of simple standard yet fully equipped with a kitchen, living room with fireplace, three bedrooms and a washroom with a shower and an incinerating toilet. There is also a sauna available on site.
The surroundings
With the cottage as a base, you have all the mountains on your doorstep. Near by you can have a day out and hike Klumpliklumpen. A little further afield there are many mountains to choose from but also exciting excursions such as the Wilderness Road over Stekenjokk, Bjurälvens karst landscape, Sweden’s longest cave – Korallgrottan, Vikens Chapel, Vållans fäbod, the Sami church settlements in Ankarede, the beautiful waterfalls – Hällingsåfallet, Gaustafallet, Brakkåfallet, Lejarfallet and much more.
Or why try your luck at fishing or take a sauna and a swim in Jormsjön. In the evening, when the sky and surrounding mountains reflect off the still waters, take a moment to reflect on your day and take in the wonderful scenery at the bottom of the garden we call “sommarnöjet”.
The house
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a large dining table. There is both an electric stove and a wood-burning stove. In the living room, overlooking the Jorm Lake and the mountains, there is a large fireplace and a sofa bed. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, The master bedroom with a fireplace, a TV and views over the mountains. The bed is 160 cm. The blue room with a 140 cm bed, a single bed and an extra bed. On the ground floor there is the green room with two beds (a bunk bed).
There is wifi and a TV with Swedish channels, an old AppleTV and a DVD. The food, spices, etc that you’ll find in the house, you’re free to use.
Booking & prices
Only weekly rentals in July, changeover day is Saturday with arrival from 15:00 and departure before 11.00. The rental fee is 8000 SEK/week including free access to the sauna. Please bring your own sheets and towels and clean the house before departure. No smoking indoors.
2024 is already fully booked but please contact us if you’re interested in a week in July- we might get cancellations.
You can also add a log cabin for an extra charge.
Dogs are allowed but not cats.
